The work aims to identify and produce solid-state food fortification agents for components such as vitamins, iron, and other minerals. Cocrystallization is one the technique which has been identified for achieving this. In our laboratory, through initial screening, we have identified a few probable cocrystals for this purpose. These leads need to be studied further by producing and analyzing the crystals.
Duration: 3 months (can be extended based on performance)
Consolidated salary: up to 30,000 per month (based on relevant experience)
Basic idea on crystallization, food fortificants, and analytical techniques would be beneficial.
BTech or MTech in any of the following areas:
Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science & Engineering
CPI or Percentage criteria
For MTech candidates: minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60%
For BTech candidates: minimum CPI of 8.0 or 75%
Performing laboratory experiments on producing cocrystals of vitamins or other food fortificants.
Analyzing the crystals using techniques such as FTIR, XRD, DSC, etc.
Designing processes for scale-up of the crystallization system.
